Community

Community service and hands-on experience are at the heart of what every Warrior M.D. achieves at the Wayne State University School of Medicine. With a commitment to serving the community, including the diverse Detroit patient base and addressing health inequities and inequality, students make a difference from their very first weeks. With more than 24,000 hours of community service dedicated each year to the community through curriculum and service hours, students determine where they want to dedicate their time, personalizing their experience and applying their service to meet their passions.

Warrior M.D. Ambassadors

Medical students take on the role of ambassadors, promoting the School of Medicine to prospective students as well as supporting colleagues with information and resource needs. Connecting across years and areas of interest, peer-to-peer connection and experiences are fostered. Warrior M.D. Chats are conducted by ambassadors to help prospective students determine why the Wayne State University School of Medicine is right for them.
