Financial aid and scholarships
The Wayne State University Office of Student Financial Aid has staff located in the School of Medicine who work with medical student to tailor a plan for each student's needs. Services available include:
- Loans - Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan, Federal Direct Grad PLUS Loan, Loans for Disadvantaged Students and others.

- Canadian and international students also have options
- Private scholarships
WSU scholarships require completion of Free Application for Student Aid. Generous private donors, including medical alumni, provide support of medical school scholarships, including those available to underrepresented in medicine students.

Beyond loans and scholarships, WSU offers eligible students additional resource support with food, transportation, utilities, child care and other areas.
Wayne State University is committed to educating future physicians and supporting and understanding financial needs and related stress. Finacial training is offered throughout medical school in topics such as cost of attendance, financial aid budget adjustment, reviewing debt and interest, ERAS and interview expenses.
